**Minnesota Vikings vs Philadelphia Eagles Prediction and Tips - NFL Week 7, 2025**

_By Ben Dunlop · Published: 20 Oct 2025, 04:00 am_

Minnesota Vikings 22–28 Philadelphia Eagles in NFL Week 7 at U.S. Bank Stadium. Here's how the result stacked up against the model's call, with the win-probability story and where the value landed.

Minnesota Vikings played the patient game and won that argument comfortably: 402 yards to 371, 33 first downs to 22, and 89 yards on the ground to Philadelphia's 45. Philadelphia Eagles didn't care. They took the shorter road and got there first, winning 28-22 at U.S. Bank Stadium. Metres are nice. Points are better.

The shape of it was set early. A.J. Brown had the Eagles up 6-0 inside the first quarter, and by the end of it Philadelphia led 7-3. Jalen Hurts and company kept adding while barely touching the ball, and a Jordan Hunt score midway through the second quarter pushed it to 13-3. Minnesota went into the break down 14-6, doing the hard yards but not the scoreboard work.

That gap is the whole story. Philadelphia's offensive EPA sat at 11.7 for the game against Minnesota's minus-6, a swing of 17.7 expected points. You can lead the league in first downs and still lose that fight if every Vikings drive costs ground and every Eagles drive banks points. Carson Wentz threw for 313 yards on 26 of 42 with two interceptions, plenty of volume, not enough finish. Jalen Hurts needed only 23 attempts to get 326 yards and three touchdowns. That's the efficiency gap in a nutshell.

DeVonta Smith did the damage nobody stopped: nine catches for 183 yards and a touchdown that put Philadelphia up 20-9 early in the third. Minnesota answered through Jordan Mason, who capped a 57-yard, 15-carry day with a score to make it 21-15, and by the end of the third quarter it was 21-16. Still alive, still competitive on the ledger, still behind on the board.

The fourth quarter belonged to Brown again. His second touchdown, with 6:40 left, stretched it to 27-19, and Minnesota's late push only got the margin back to six at the final whistle. Two turnovers against none is not a gap you climb out of against a team scoring at that rate, and Minnesota's pass rush getting home three times to Philadelphia's two wasn't enough to offset it.

None of this should shock anyone who looked at the positional numbers going in. Philadelphia's receiving corps rated 64 to Minnesota's 56, and Smith's afternoon is exactly what that number was pointing at. The secondary edge, 61 to 57, held up too, given how often Wentz's yardage came in bunches rather than in the moments that mattered. Minnesota's only clear advantage on paper, special teams at 61 to 57, wasn't the kind of edge that closes a seven-point efficiency gap.

Form lines told a similar story. Philadelphia had been leaking points lately, conceding 24.6 a game and dropping two of their last five, but 28 here was well above their own scoring average of 23.6. Minnesota's typical defensive concession sat at 19.4. They gave up nine more than that.

Alphr's model had Philadelphia the better side coming in, rated 1643 to Minnesota's 1560, and backed them at 59 percent to win by 2.4
