**Dallas Cowboys vs Washington Commanders Prediction and Tips - NFL Week 7, 2025**

_By Ben Dunlop · Published: 20 Oct 2025, 07:25 am_

Dallas Cowboys 44–22 Washington Commanders in NFL Week 7 at AT&T Stadium. Here's how the result stacked up against the model's call, with the win-probability story and where the value landed.

Dallas Cowboys led 27-15 at the break against a Washington Commanders side that had won two of its last five, and it was the sort of margin that still left room for a comeback. It didn't come. By full time it read 44-22, and the second half is where Dallas turned a workable lead into a rout.

The scoring had actually started fast both ways. Javonte Williams opened the game with a touchdown at 13:08 in the first for a 6-0 lead, Zach Ertz answered for Washington to make it 7-8, then CeeDee Lamb's score put Dallas up 16-8 and they closed the quarter 17-8. Jayden Daniels got Washington within five late in the second, but Jake Ferguson's touchdown with 15 seconds left in the half restored the buffer at 27-15.

Dallas came out of the break and pulled away properly. Ferguson scored again at 7:48 in the third to make it 33-15, and Dak Bland's touchdown three minutes later stretched it to 40-15. Chris Rodriguez Jr. got one back for Washington to close the third quarter at 41-22, and the two sides played out the rest of the game with the scoreboard set: Dallas 44, Washington 22 at the final whistle.

The stat sheet backs up what the scoreboard suggests. Dallas outgained Washington 416 yards to 355 and won first downs 29 to 24. The bigger number is offensive EPA: Dallas at plus 5.9, Washington at minus 14.2. That's a 20-point gap in efficiency snap for snap, and it explains why three Washington touchdowns still felt like a team chasing the game the whole way.

Turnovers and the pass rush did the rest of the damage. Washington coughed the ball up twice and forced nothing in return, and Dallas's front got home four times to Washington's once. Neither number looks dramatic on its own, but stacked together against a team that came in rated as 1.2-point favourites, they add up fast.

Individually it was Dak Prescott's night: 21 from 30 for 264 yards and three touchdowns, two of them to Jake Ferguson. Javonte Williams led all rushers with 116 yards on 19 carries and a score of his own, and Dallas's 152 rushing yards made up more than a third of their total output, no small thing against a Washington defence that had held up reasonably well through the year. CeeDee Lamb was the game's top target too, five catches for 110 yards and a touchdown.

Jayden Daniels wasn't invisible for Washington, 12 from 22 for 156 yards and a touchdown, plus a rushing score of his own, but he was working behind an offence that never found any rhythm once Dallas's pass rush started landing hits.

Alphr's model had this one picked the other way, giving Washington a 52 percent chance and a projected 1.2-point win. The actual margin ran 22 points the other direction, and the 66 combined points landed 24 clear of the model's forecast of 42. Dallas's rating gap in the pre-match numbers, quarterback and receiving corps both comfortably ahead of Washington's, played out almost exactly as those figures suggested it could, even if the model's headline pick didn't see it coming.
