**Buffalo Bills vs Baltimore Ravens Prediction and Tips - NFL Week 1, 2025**

_By Ben Dunlop · Published: 8 Sept 2025, 10:20 am_

Buffalo Bills 41–40 Baltimore Ravens in NFL Week 1 at New Era Field. Here's how the result stacked up against the model's call, with the win-probability story and where the value landed.

Alphr's model had Buffalo by 1.7 points and a combined total of 45. Buffalo won by 1, so the margin call was about as sharp as it gets. The total was a different story entirely: 81 points landed on the board, 36 more than projected, and the model never saw a shootout like this coming.

Buffalo Bills 41, Baltimore Ravens 40 at New Era Field, and it stayed a one-score game deep into the fourth quarter. Josh Allen's second touchdown with 2:00 left made it 38-40, and Buffalo needed the extra point to get the nose in front. Neither side controlled this one for long.

Buffalo actually led first, 7-3 at the end of the first quarter off a Dalton Kincaid touchdown, before Baltimore flipped it in the second. Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson both scored to make it 20-13 at the break. The Ravens kept building from there. Zay Flowers made it 26-13 early in the third, and by the end of that quarter Baltimore were up 34-19 on the back of a DeAndre Hopkins score. That's a 15-point buffer heading into the fourth, and Buffalo wiped it out. Allen, then Keon Coleman, then Allen again, three scores in the final period, the last two either side of the two-minute warning.

The stat sheet explains why Buffalo had that much in reserve. 502 total yards to 447, and 394 of Buffalo's yards came through the air off Allen's 33-of-46 outing for 2 touchdowns. Baltimore's ledger was almost the mirror image: 238 rushing yards, 47 per cent of their total output, with Henry doing the heavy lifting at 169 yards on 18 carries and 2 touchdowns. Jackson was efficient rather than heavy, 14-of-19 for 209 and 2 scores, and Flowers was the standout target with 7 catches for 143 yards and a touchdown.

The positional ratings had Baltimore ahead in nearly every category that matters for a running game and a passing attack: backfield 79 to 66, receiving corps 62 to 43, secondary 62 to 49. Henry and Flowers lived up to that on the day. But none of it covered for the one number that undid the Ravens: a turnover, against zero from Buffalo. In a game decided by a single point, that's the whole margin right there.

Buffalo's edge on paper was special teams, 60 to 45, with a slight nod in pass rush, 58 to 56. Neither shows up as decisive in the box score, but 45 first downs to 26 tells the real tale: Buffalo kept the chains moving longer and often enough to answer every Baltimore surge.

Form coming in had Baltimore the more battle-hardened side, four wins from five against Bu
